My Hometown

My Hometown

Verse 1:
Well it’s a beautiful day
Sky turned to blue from grey
Not a single worry going through my brain

Sun shining down
On my hometown
Another glorious day down on the plains

Chorus:
Cuz my hometown has been good to me
I’m not the kind of man that just packs up and leaves
And if you’d stay and take a walk with me
We could go down to the corner and roll the trees
There’s no other place I’d rather be
Than right here with you
In my hometown

Verse 2:
We could go to the mall
Run around and have ball
And let the rental cops chase us away

Then we could go grab a bite
Get ready for tonight
I can’t think of a better way to spend the day

Chorus:
Cuz my hometown has been good to me
I’m not the kind of man that just packs up and leaves
And if you’d stay and take a walk with me
We could go down to the corner and roll the trees
There’s no other place I’d rather be
Than right here with you
In my hometown

Bridge:
This is the place where I grew up
I turned from a boy into a man
I don’t think I could ever get enough
This has got to be God’s promised land

Chorus:
Cuz my hometown has been good to me
I’m not the kind of man that just packs up and leaves
And if you’d stay and take a walk with me
We could go down to the corner and roll the trees
There’s no other place I’d rather be
Than right here with you
In my hometown
